Everyone has a favorite classic movie. (Probably more than one. Maybe dozens?) When you've only seen the classics at home there's nothing quite like seeing your fave up on the big screen. Fortunately, we show many classic movies here at Cinemark!
Here are the classic movies playing in Cinemark theaters over the next few months. We have two ongoing series this season to bring fan-favorite classics to the screen: Big in '84, to celebrate our own 40th anniversary, and Back to Hogwarts, with a full run of all the Harry Potter movies. And there are more surprises on the schedule, too!

Coraline 15th Anniversary

BIG IN '84 - Cinemark 40th Anniversary: Purple Rain
A victim of his own anger, the Kid (Prince) is a Minneapolis musician on the rise with his band, the Revolution, escaping a tumultuous home life through music. While trying to avoid making the same mistakes as his truculent father (Clarence Williams III), the Kid navigates the club scene and a rocky relationship with a captivating singer, Apollonia (Apollonia Kotero). But another musician, Morris (Morris Day), looks to steal the Kid's spotlight -- and his girl. [August 15]
BIG IN '84 - Cinemark 40th Anniversary: Ghostbusters
After the members of a team of scientists (Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray) lose their cushy positions at a university in New York City, they decide to become "ghostbusters" to wage a high-tech battle with the supernatural for money. They stumble upon a gateway to another dimension, a doorway that will release evil upon the city. The Ghostbusters must now save New York from complete destruction. [August 16]
BIG IN '84 - Cinemark 40th Anniversary: A Nightmare On Elm Street
In Wes Craven's classic slasher film, several Midwestern teenagers fall prey to Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund), a disfigured midnight mangler who preys on the teenagers in their dreams -- which, in turn, kills them in reality. After investigating the phenomenon, Nancy (Heather Langenkamp) begins to suspect that a dark secret kept by her and her friends' parents may be the key to unraveling the mystery, but can Nancy and her boyfriend Glen (Johnny Depp) solve the puzzle before it's too late? Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - Back to Hogwarts 2024
Based on the first of J.K. Rowling's popular children's novels about Harry Potter, the live-action family adventure film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone tells the story of a boy who learns on his 11th birthday that he is the orphaned son of two powerful wizards and possesses unique magical powers of his own. Rear Window 70th Anniversary

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - Back to Hogwarts 2024
Harry Potter's adventures continue... After a long summer with the horrid Dursleys, Harry Potter is thwarted in his attempts to board the train to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to begin his second year. Harry's only transportation option is a magical flying car, but, unfortunately, it crashes into a valuable (and clearly vexed) Whomping Willow. Still, all this seems like a day in the park compared to what awaits Harry that fall within the haunted halls of Hogwarts. Chilling, malevolent voices whisper from the walls only to Harry, and it seems certain that his classmate Draco Malfoy is out to get him.
