New Thriller, Mystery and Suspense Movies to See in Theatres

7/25/2022 • 5 min read

(Updated 12/13/2023)

There is probably someone out there who does not like thriller, suspense, or mystery movies, but we’re not certain we believe that they exist. If they do exist, we’d probably be a little bit suspicious of them. Because thriller movies, and all their various permutations, offer some of the most exciting times you can have in the movie theater.

Thrillers, mysteries, and suspense movies can be great acting showcases, as with a movie like GONE GIRL, and they can be pure entertainment as well, as with KNIVES OUT. (We’d argue that KNIVES OUT was also an acting showcase.) Directors like Alfred Hitchcock, M. Night Shyamalan, and now Jordan Peele have built entire careers playing with the infinite possibilities of these genres.

If you’re looking for new movies to watch, you are in luck! We have thrillers, mysteries, and suspense movies — some very serious and some with comic or action overtones, covering a wide variety of subjects — coming to theaters soon. Here they are.

Secretly hoping, against the odds, to return to pro ball, Ray persuades Eve that the new home’s shimmering backyard swimming pool will be fun for the kids and provide physical therapy for him.
